Ghanaian Hiphop artiste, Desmond Blackmore known on stage as D-Black has won Most Gifted African West Music Video at the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards.
He won the award for his video, Falling which featured Nigerian rapper MoCheddah. D-Black beat off competition from fellow Ghanaian artiste Sarkodie and Nigerian artistes, Wizkid, Naeto C and Wande Coal.
This year’s awards came off at the Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa Saturday night and it awarded some of Africa’s finest artistes who excelled over the past year.
Other Ghanaian artistes nominated on the night failed to clinch their awards.
Rapper E.L who was nominated in the Most Gifted New Comer Video for his video, Turn the Lights Down lost out on that award to Nigeria's Davido. Nigeria's Ice Prince beat Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest to win the Most Gifted Hiphop Video award.
M.anifest congratulated D-Black via a tweet Sunday. The tweet read: "Congrats to D-Black for winning a Channel O award last night. Ayekoo."
On the night however, it was Nigerian superstar, D'Banj who stood tall walking home with the two awards, Most Gifted Male Video of the Year and Most Gifted Video of the Year .
Apart from the awards, there were exciting performances from MoCheddah, Davido, Zeus, Khuli Chana & Ice Prince.
